Box Score D'Marco Smith scored a career high 18 points as the Neosho County Panthers defeated Southwestern College 98-51 on Tuesday (Nov. 6) evening. The Panthers improved 2-0 on the season while Southwestern drops to 1-0.
 
The Panthers jumped out to an early lead on the Moundbuilders thanks to good rebounding and unselfish play. Neosho County outrebounded Southwestern 31-10 in the first half. The Panthers used 11 offensive rebounds to score 20 second chance points on the way to a 54-28 halftime lead.
 
Mark Gray led the Panthers in the first half with 11 points to go with six rebounds. The Panthers also shared the ball well in the first half as seven different Panthers recorded an assist led by Jake Stoppel who dished out three.
 
The second half would be more of the same for the Panthers as they finished the night +25 in the rebound column. Jeremy Nolen led the way for the Panthers on the boards with a career high 12 to go with his 8 points. Daniel Magley distributed the ball well as he dished out six assists on the night while Keegan Oyugi added five.
 
For the night five Panthers finished in double figures led by Smith's 18. Jake Stoppel finished with 14 while Mark Gray and D'Avonte Garland each tallied 13 while Jamie Batish rounded out the double digit scorers with 12.
 
The Panthers will be back in action Friday when they host Bethel College at 7:00pm.
