Panthers go 2-2 at Coffeyville Tournament

Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 | Box Score 3 | Box Score 4 The Panthers traveled to Coffeyville Community College for a four game tournament. They would come out with a 2-2 record.

NEO 3, Neosho 2
A hard fought battle with NEO would end in favor of the Lady Norse. Neosho would take games 1 and 3 with scores of 25-22 and 25-20, while NEO would take sets 2, 4, and 5 (25-22, 30-28, and 15-10). Yuleika Jimenez had yet another double-double with 28 kills and 18 digs. Haley Miller would add 10 kills of her own. Katie Jensen had 24 digs and Whitney Gifford had 17 digs. Mollie Ravnikar had 4 blocks and Tasha Wampler had 3.5.

Neosho 3, Independence 1
After losing the first set 25-23, the Panthers went on to defeat Independence in the next 3 games (25-19, 25-13, and 25-13). Yuleika Jimenez was nearly unstoppable hitting .600 with 23 kills. She would add in 13 digs on her way to yet another double-double. Mollie Ravnikar and Tasha Wampler would each add 4 blocks a piece. Laura Broadfoot had a double-double of her own with 29 assists and 13 digs. Whitney Gifford had 5 aces and 13 digs. Katie Jensen led the way defensively 22 digs.

Coffeyville 3, Neosho 0
The Panthers came out flat Saturday morning and fell in straight sets to Coffeyville 25-14, 25-15, and 30-28. “This was one of those games that from the opening serve nothing went our way. We didn't respond well to some early struggles and dug ourselves a pretty big hole. I was proud of the fight we showed in the 3rd set, but we weren't able to get ourselves out of the mess we created,” said head coach, Asya Herron.

Neosho 3, Independence 0
After struggling in their first match Saturday, the Panthers would turn things around against Independence. Panthers would take down the Pirates 25-18, 25-14, and 25-20. Yuleika Jimenez continues to be the model of consistency as she posted her 3rd double-double on the weekend with 12 kills and 12 digs. Tasha Wampler would also add in 12 kills. Whitney Gifford led in digs with 13.

Panthers will be back in action Wednesday when they host the Larks of Hesston College. The Larks come into the match with a record of 15-9. Game time is set for 6:30, so come out and support the Panthers on 80s night.
