Panther sail past Brown Mackie

The Neosho County Panthers returned home after a 12 game road trip to take on the Lions of Brown Mackie College. The Panthers would easily handle the Lions with a 12-3 game one win and an 18-1 game two victory.

Game 1

Eight different Panthers would record a hit in the game as Neosho County cruised to a 12-3 victory. Freshman Nick Fowble would get his first start on the mound in a Panther uniform and had an up and down day. The lefty would strike out 5 in his three innings of work, but would allow three runs including a two run homerun in the third to give the Lions the lead.

A single off the bat of Caleb Compton would be followed with an RBI triple from Adam Giaclone. Garrett Schaede would then drive Giacalone in with a single of his own before Tyler Palmer capped the inning with a triple of his own to score Schaede.

Freshman Taylor Smith made his first start of the season in right field and made the most of the opportunity going 2-2 at the plate with a double and a pair of RBI's and runs scored. Palmer would finish the day 2-3 at the plate adding a two run homerun in the fifth to go with his RBI triple.

Four Panther relievers would combine to hold the Lions scoreless the rest of the way allowing only two hits and walk while striking out six over the final four innings. Dalton Cox would pick up the win for the Panthers tossing a perfect fifth inning while striking out two.

Game 2

The Panther offense would break out in a big way in game two setting season highs for hits and runs scored on the way to an 18-1 victory. Taylor smith would once again lead the charge for the Panthers at the plate finish his day perfect at the plate by going 3-3 in the nightcap while driving in five runs. Not to be outdone by his catching counterpart, Tommy Keith went 3-4 at the plate with a homerun of his own while driving in 4 runs and scoring 3 more. Adam Giacalone would also enjoy a big day at the plate going 3-3 with four runs scored and five RBI's of his own.
