Panthers Split With Ravens a Second Time

Game 1

Eric Dawson would go 3-3 at the plate and Caleb Compton would go 2-3, but it would not be enough as a late rally by the Ravens would hand the Panthers their 5th one-run loss on the year by a final tally of 5-4.

Freshman lefty Matt Strahm would dominate the Ravens for four innings before running in to trouble in the fifth inning. Coffeyville would score three runs in the fifth and tack on two more in the sixth before Max Ising would enter the game to end the inning. Strahm would strike out eight in his 5 2/3 innings of work, but would surrender five hits while walking two to take the loss and fall to 2-2 on the year.

Game 2

Less than a week after a complete game win in the series finale against Allen County, sophomore Ben Jacks would deliver another gem. The righty would allow a run in the first before tossing eight more scoreless innings scattering three hits and three walks while striking out eight to move his record to 2-0.

Offensively Adam Giacalone went 4-5 at the plate with a double and Eric Dawson went 2-4 with an RBI and a double of his own.
