Michael Zafuta, MD graduated from Pittsburg State University with a Bachelor of Science degree, went on to earn his Medical Doctorate from Baylor College of Medicine, and then did post-graduate training in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.  Immediately following this training, he was accepted in and earned a Sports Medicine Fellowship at the prestigious Steadman Hawkins Clinic in Vail, CO, where he was the Assistant Team Physician for the Denver Broncos, Colorado Rockies and U.S. Olympic Ski Team.
Dr. Zafuta is currently in private practice in Pittsburg at Freeman Orthopaedics & Sports Medicine (on Pine Street) and is the Medical Director for Pitt State football and athletic programs, as well as area high schools.  He specializes in:
