Harrison, Ark.- Neosho County men's basketball season continued their winning ways, as they defeated a talented North Arkansas College team 74:69.
Despite the Panthers facing early foul trouble in the first half, that forced them to go deep into their rotations and sent North Arkansas College to the free throw line 18 times in the first half, they were able to take a lead into halftime with a score of 36-34. After taking a two point lead into half-time, 36-43, the Panthers found their rhythm in the second half and were able to extend their lead to 16 points midway through the second half. Ultimately, the Panthers were able to survive a late scare, sparked by a Pioneers run, and finished the game with a pair of free throws to win by 5.
Again, the Panthers were led by their suffocating defense, which held North Arkansas College to 32% from the floor and 44 points under their season average. The Panthers were able to capitalize off their defense, scoring 12 points off of turnovers and out rebounding North Arkansas College by 8 total rebounds.
For the third game in a row, the Panthers displayed a balanced scoring attack that resulted in 5 players scoring in double digits: Cooper Weeks (15), Raziel Taylor (14), Adyn Prophete (12), Champ Powaukee (12), and Eriq Caraballo (10). With this win the Panthers improve to 3-0, as they get ready to head to Council Bluffs, Iowa, where they will play Ellsworth Community College on Friday, and Iowa Western Community College on Saturday.
