Overland Park, KS - The Neosho County Men's basketball team lost to Johnson County Community College on the road 75-63 on Saturday afternoon. Johnson County broke open a close game by going on a 21-2 run in the last 4:50 of the first half to take a 43-28 halftime lead. The Panthers outscored Johnson 35-32 in the second half, and were able to cut the lead to single digits several times.
The leading scorer in the game for Neosho County was sophomore
Damian Jones with 18 points. Other Panther's scoring in double figures were freshman
Adyn Prophete with 16 points, freshman
Champ Powaukee with 12 points, and redshirt sophomore
Michael Doria with 10 points. Redshirt Sophomore
Aaron Doria had 8 rebounds to lead the Panthers, with
Champ Powaukee adding 7.
Neosho County is now 7-8 on the season and 0-1 in conference play. The Panther's resume play on Wednesday with a home conference game against Highland Community College at 7:30 PM.
