Chanute, KS - The Panthers came out on top against Johnson County in game one with a score of 6-4. Although the Cavaliers scored first, the Panthers would start their scoring in the bottom of the second with a solo shot by
Annsleigh Morris. With a triple by
Braxton Stainbrook and a double by
Lainey Howard, the Panthers would tie the game at three. The Panthers weren't done scoring there. In the bottom of the fourth,
Addyson Easter doubled, Stainbrook walked, and Morris was hit by a pitch, each scoring in the inning.
Logan Cates would earn the win in the circle. Cates surrendered zero hits, one unearned run, walking two and having a big strikeout day with eleven.
in game two the Panthers fell one run short to Johnson, with a score of 7-6. The bats got going in the fifth for the Panthers when
Addyson Easter singled, scoring one run. Johnson would take the lead 3-1 in the sixth inning. The bottom of the sixth, the Panthers took the lead 5-3, where
Carsyn McCue would score one run on a fielder's choice.
Brinly Bancroft would single, scoring one run and an error would allow two runs to cross the plate. The Cavaliers would take the lead once again in the top of the 7th making the score 7-5. The Panthers would fight and one run would cross on a solo shot by
Caitlyn Myers in the bottom of the 7th, but that is all that would come across, making the final score 7-6.
Gracie Turner would take the loss in the circle, three runs were allowed on nine hits. Turner walked one and struck out five.
