Lincoln, NE - The Neosho County men's basketball team won two games at the Southeastern Community College Tournament in Lincoln, Nebraska to improve to 7-6 on the season.
On Friday, the Panthers beat Southeastern Community College 71-69. The Panthers trailed 44-40 at halftime, before leading by as many as 12 points in the second half. Freshman
Champ Powaukee led Neosho County in scoring with 21 points. Other Panthers scoring in double figures included freshman
Adyn Prophete with 15 points and redshirt sophomore
Aaron Doria with 11 points. The leading rebounders in the game for the Panthers were sophomore Jordan Buhrle with 10 rebounds,
Adyn Prophete with 9 rebounds, and
Champ Powaukee with 6 rebounds. Freshman
Justin van Rooijen had 4 assists to lead Neosho County.
On Saturday, Neosho County beat Concordia University 69-53.
Champ Powaukee again led the Panthers in scoring with 18 points.
Michael Doria and Jordan Burhle also scored in double figures with 13 points and 10 points respectfully.
Aaron Doria led Neosho County with 9 rebounds, with sophomore
Jakub Pasieczny adding 6 rebounds.
Champ Powaukee had 5 assists to lead the Panthers, with redshirt sophomore
Michael Doria adding 3 assists.
Neosho County resumes play next with a home match-up against Bethel College.
