Baldwin City, KS - The Neosho CC Wrestling competed at the Dan Harris Open hosted by Baker University on Sunday, Nov. 3rd. The Panther's saw competition from NCAAII, NAIA and Junior College levels.
Dylan Waggerman (Paola, KS) went 4-1 on the day, finishing 3rd at 184lbs. Starting off the day with a 6-2 decision over Alex Zavala from Northeast Oklahoma. In the quater-finals Waggerman won by fall over Trevor Wilson from Missouri Valley. Dylan dropped his semi-final match to the eventual champion but came back through on the backside of the bracket, with a decision over Eli Messik from Baker, 4-2, and then defeated Wilson of Missouri Valley again in the 3
rd place match 6-2.
Other notable performances on the day were,
Draven Pipkin (Spring Hill, KS) finished 4
th at 197.
Cayden Morris (Richmond, MO) competed well, going 2-2 on the day, reaching the semifinals at 125 and
Kelton Howard (Plam Coast, FL) went 3-2, eventually dropping his final match in the consolation semi-finals. Coach
Matt Hansen said "Overall we performed well today but we are still not there yet. We need to keep our nose to the grindstone and keep improving"
The Panthers next competition will be the Viking Open at Carl Albert State College on Sat. Nov. 9th
