Panthers Softball Pulls off Sweep on the Road

Tonkawa, OK - In game one, Five runs in the second inning led the Panthers past the Mavericks 8-2 on Monday. Neosho hitters contributing to the big inning included Braxton Stainbrook, Lainey Howard, and Devynn Raile, who all drove in runs. In the second inning, the Panthers got their offense started. Stainbrook had a base-clearing double, scoring three runs. Lauren Fuller was credited with the victory for the Panthers. Fuller allowed two hits and zero runs over five innings, walking zero. Zoe Newcomb started the game for the Panthers. Newcomb went two innings, allowing two runs on two hits. Lainey Howard led the Panthers going 3-for-3 at the plate. Riley Kennedy led with three stolen bases.
 
During game two on Monday, the Panthers push past the Mavericks 7-5. Neosho County got things moving in the first inning when a sacrifice bunt by Devynn Raile scored one run for the Panthers. Hannah Duin drove runs in on a single in the first, a single in the third, and a home run in the seventh. The Mavericks evened things up in the bottom of the second, the Panthers pulled away for good with two runs in the third inning. Gracie Turner led things off in the circle for Neosho. Turner allowed eight hits and three runs over five innings, striking out one. Lauren Fuller got the save for the Panthers allowing runs on two hits, striking out one. The Panthers tallied two home runs on the day, Duin in the seventh and Easter in the fifth.
