CHANUTE, KS – Five different Panthers scored in double figures as Neosho (1-0, 0-0) began the 2023-24 campaign with a comfortable 112-57 win over Friends University on opening night.
It was an aggressive full-court press and relentless rebounding on both ends of the floor that helped the Panthers start the season with the lopsided win. The pressure led to easy first-half baskets and the Panthers took a 50-33 lead into the locker room at the half.
The Panthers forced the Friends Falcons into 60 turnovers on the night.
Myah Coleman led the Panthers with 16 points, 7 rebounds and 4 steals.
Natalie Mesa added 13 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 steals.
Jahniya Brown added 11 points and 9 rebounds.
Baylee Davis finished with 10 points and freshman
Amrri Thompson also finished the game with 10 points.
The Panthers hit the road to take on the Hutchinson Blue Dragons on Tuesday, November 7
th. The game is set to tip at 5:30 p.m.
