Chanute, KS - The Panthers hosted their first home dual on Tuesday evening and fell to Labette 42-9. Junior Camacho (So., Wichita, KS) got the Panthers off to a great start by knocking off the number 9
th ranked 125 in the nation by a score of 9-2. #7 ranked
Jake Knowles (So. El Dorado, KS) won a 1-0 decision at 165 and
Jasper Dewey (Fr. Merriam, KS) also won his match at 285 with a 1-0 decision.
Coach Hansen said, "Junior Camacho wrestled tough tonight. He made some adjustments from his performance at the National Duals and it paid off for him. We expect great things from him in March if he continues on his current path.
Knowles continues to improve and has been solid for us all season. We have high expectations for him in March as well."
Dewey wrestled well also. Jasper is just a tough young man who is always going to fight for 7 minutes and never quit. That was the key to his win tonight."
The Panthers will host NJCAA #4 Pratt next week Tues, January 24th, in the Panther Gymnasium.
