Overland Park, Ks - Neosho faced a tough away game against Johnson which promised to be a difficult fixture. Against the wind in the first half Neosho defended well and limited Johnson's opportunities, Neosho did find themselves 1-0 down at halftime from a shot on the edge of the box where it could've possibly been closed down quicker. Johnson added a second goal midway through the second half after Neosho had started to create some opportunities and enjoyed spells of possession. With 12 minutes to go Neosho pulled a goal back and were back in the game at 2-1, Johnson replied almost instantly to make it 3-1 and the game looked set to be over.

Neosho never stopped believing they could get something from the game and responded brilliantly when Elizabeth Napoles doubled her and Neosho's tally for the day. Neosho now trailed 3-2 with 10 minutes still to be played. Neosho piled on the pressure in search of a late equalizer and with 4 minutes to go Myriam Zamora equalized after great work again from Elizabeth Napoles to send the game into extra time.

Neosho started extra time like they finished the game and with 1 minute remaining of the first half of extra time, Maria Campanico came inside from the left flank to curl the ball into the top corner. It was a brilliant come back from the Neosho which epitomized the determination and character of the fantastic group of players. It was a proud day for the Neosho Womens Soccer program as it was the first win in the conference since the 2019 season. Neosho also hadn't won against Johnson CCC in the last 18 match ups, this result will now give the team confidence to compete with the top teams in the conference.
