Chanute, KS - Neosho faced Garden City Community College in what turned out to be a high goal scoring affair. Garden went 1-0 up early in the game but Neosho responded quickly when
Alicia Gonzales put away a penalty kick. The scores were level at half time, but Garden started the second half quickly and went into a 2-1 lead. Neosho then had a spell of pressure and were able to equalize again through
Myriam Zamora. Garden again went into the lead for a third time after Neosho failed to deal with a through ball that snuck in behind the defenders. Maria Rodriguez equalized late to make it 3-3 and send it to extra time, but 2 minutes into extra time Garden won the match from a corner kick in which Neosho failed to deal with the ball in the box.
Next up Neosho will host Johnson County on Wednesday, October 19th, with a scheduled 5.00pm kickoff.
