Panthers Blow Out Coffeyville Community College in Game 1
Neosho County Softball had no trouble on offense on Saturday, to start the month of May, winning big over Coffeyville Community College 9-2, with nine runs scored. Neosho got on the board in the first inning, when Hannah Duin Singled, scoring Espy Daniels. The Panthers notched three runs in the third inning as well. The Panthers big bats were led by Mallory Gazaway and Karley Crowe, all driving in runs in the frame. Gazaway's hit was a two-run homerun over dead center. The Panthers racked up 11 hits in the game. Katie Boline, Paulson, Duin, and Journee Zito all had multiple hits for the Panthers. Boline went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead the Panthers in hits. Zito led the team with three RBI's. Gazaway and Duin followed closely behind with two. Lauren Fuller earned the victory in the circle for Panthers. The pitcher surrendered one run on five hits over three innings, striking out one and walking zero. Cassidy Paulson threw four innings in relief out of the bullpen, walking one and striking out four.
Pitching By Olivia Shuts Out Coffeyville in Game 2
Olivia Cummings didn't allow a single run against Coffeyville Community College, throwing a complete game shutout and leading the Panthers to a 9-0 victory for game two on Saturday. Thanks to NC's offense the righty lasted five innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out three. Neosho had a two-run second inning, then the Panthers secured the run-rule victory thanks to five runs in the fifth inning. Espy Daniels and Cassidy Paulson powered the big inning with RBIs.The Panthers racked up seven hits on the day. Paulson, Britney Hughes, and Daniels all managed multiple hits for the Panthers. Kirsten Birdwell also collected a hit to contribute to the run-rule victory. Paulson was the team's RBI leader with four total RBI's. Daniels followed her with two RBI's.
