The Panther wrestlers competed at the NJCAA National Wrestling Championships on April 21-22 in Council Bluffs, IA. This would be the last time the Panthers compete under head coach Nick Nothern, as he announced that this would be his last year as the Head Coach for Panther Wrestling.
"I was really proud of all ten guys who competed at the national tournament. They all went out there and laid it all on the line. I'm going to miss these guys next year."
Neosho came away from the tournament with two All-Americans in 165lb'er Tyson Villalpando and 197lb'er Ryan Murphy. Both Tyson and Ryan went 4-3 and finished 8th in the nation at their respective weight class. Chanute native Sam Son (157) also went 3-2 and had his best performance of the year. The team finished in 19th place overall in the tournament.
