Game 1:
Neosho Softball snatched the lead and never looked back with a 6-2 victory over Cowley College on Sunday in game one. The game was tied at two with the Panthers batting in the bottom of the sixth, when an error scored two runs for the Panthers. Lauren Fuller pitched Neosho County to victory. The freshman pitcher allowed five hits and two runs over five and a third innings, while striking out two. Cassidy Paulson threw one and two-thirds innings in relief out of the bullpen, to earn the save for Neosho. The Panther offense had seven hits in the game. Hannah Duin and Journee Zito each racked up two hits to lead the team. Paulson, Boline, and Marchoud all had a hit to contribute to the team's win.Â
Game 2:
For game two, the Panthers ran off with the lead late in the game in a 3-2 victory. The game was tied at two with the Panthers batting in the bottom of the sixth when Espy Daniels's sac fly scored Alyssa Gillespie for the go ahead run. Ayche Marchoud, Daniels, and Birdwell all had an RBI to contribute to the win. The pitching was strong on both sides, with the Panthers pitching staff striking out ten. Sophomore Ravin Moore started the game for Neosho County.The right-hander allowed four hits and two runs over five innings, striking out six and walking one. Cassidy Paulson pitched in relief and led the Panthers to victory on the rubber. Paulson lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one. Hannah Duin led the Panthers with two hits in three at bats.
