IOLA, KS -- Despite a late surge by the Panthers cutting the early deficit to a reasonable 9 points, the Red Devils would extend that lead to 17 points at the midway point of the game. From tip to finish the Panthers struggled to consistently build any momentum, as a ball-hawking defensive effort out of Allen, contained the usually potent orange and black offense. The Panthers would eventually drop this contest 84-65.
After Allen Community College bolted out to a lead as large as 18 points through the first 14 minutes of play, the Panthers finally managed to gather themselves and play the Red Devils close in the second half. However, the damage was already done and the Panthers just couldn't overcome the first half deficit.
The Panthers were held to 18% shooting from three point land and gave up 24 offensive boards. Allen committed 15 turnovers and the Panthers turned it over 20 times.
Coach Jeremy Coomb's thoughts on last two games, "We are in a bad place as a team right now. We just can't seem to find our rhythm and it's really snowballing on us."
