The Neosho County Panthers hosted Independence Community College on Saturday afternoon and fell to the Pirates 84-49. The Panthers played the best first half of the season holding the Pirates to 34 points in the half. However, the Panthers struggled to keep up with the Pirates in the second half.The loss brings the Panthers overall record to 3-11 and their conference record to 2-10 on the season.

Coach Davis  on the loss, "we played the best half of the season on defense. I am just struggling to understand why we are having such a hard time putting the ball in the basket. This team will be very tough to beat when we can put together a defensive performance like this afternoon, with our A+ shooting".

The Panthers have little time to worry about this loss as they have an extremely hard road trip this week. Neosho County will travel to Coffeyville on Monday, Allen on Wednesday, and Cowley on Saturday.
