Chanute, KS -
The Panthers continued their trend of getting off to a slow start in the first half. The Panther took off in the second Quarter rolling up their sleeves with their full-court pressure. The Panthers still forced 46 turnovers but only hit 10 threes on the evening. They are now 8-1 on the season and will begin preparing for their next game on the road Thursday night with Washburn University. Coach Davis said, "We missed a lot of open shots in the first quarter but pounded the offensive glass." "Some nights you are not going to be able to score the ball easily and we are going to have to rely on our pressure defense and offensive rebounding to help us win games," Davis added.
Neosho saw four different players score in double digits in this game, which was the eighth time this has happened this season.
Breonna Carey scored a career-high in scoring with 18 points and 3 steals.
Sarah Hunt added 13 points and 3 steals to go along with 2 assists.
Chantoryia Rivers also finished with 12 points, which was her fifth time this season finishing in double-figure scoring and grabbed 9 rebounds.
Zariyah Washington led the Panthers with 15 points, 5 assists, and 4 steals.
The Panthers will now look to continue their winning streak as they face off with Washburn University JV on Thursday night at 6:00 PM.
