Chanute, KS - Neosho Softball watched the game slip away early and couldn't recover in a 7-0 loss to Johnson County Community College in game one on Sunday. Johnson took the lead on a passed ball in the top of the second inning. Neosho struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing Johnson, giving up seven runs off eight errors. One bright spot for the Panthers was a single by Alyssa Rogers in the fourth inning. Ryleigh Chaffin took the loss for Neosho. She went seven innings, allowing seven runs on nine hits, striking out four and walking only one. Rogers led the Panthers with the only two hits of the game for NCCC.

Sunday's game two against Johnson was a heartbreaker for Neosho, as they lost the lead in the top of the 8th inning in a 4-3 defeat. The game was tied 3-3 with Johnson batting in the top of the eighth when an error scored one run for JCCC. Kaelee Escoe toed the rubber for the Panthers. She went all eight innings, allowing four runs on seven hits and striking out four. The Panthers smacked one home run in game two. Ashlyn Stipp put one out in the third inning. Stipp went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Neosho in hits.
