Bartlesvillle, OK - On Monday, Neosho Softball played a double-header with Oklahoma Wesleyan University. Neosho won Game One, 4 -2 and dropped Game Two, 15-7.
In Game One the Panthers jumped out to an early lead on a single by
Kinsley Stewart. Neosho saw the ball well as they racked up 7 hits in the game. Stewart and Kat McManus managed multiple hits in Game One. Stewart lead the Panthers in hits going 3 for 4 at the plate. Neosho had 4 runs on 7 hits over seven innnings. Neosho PItcher
Kaelee Escoe got the win for the Panthers. She surrendered 2 runs on 3 hits over seven innings while striking out 10 and walking 1 batter.
In Game Two, despite being tied 7-7 in the 5th inning, Oklahoma Wesleyan pulled away late to win 15-7. Despite the loss, Neosho did collect 7 hits in the high-scoring affair. The Panthers started things off in the first inning when
Libby Horton scored on a stolen base during Madi Phillip's at bat in which she singled. Neosho evened things up at 7 runs at the top of the fourth inning when Phillips singled on a 0-1 count, which scored
Libby Horton and
Shayla Schaper. The Panthers notched six runs in the fourth inning. The offensive onslaught by Neosho was led by
Alyssa Rogers,
Shayla Schaper,
Libby Horton and Phillips, who each had RBI's in the inning. Unfortunately, Oklahoma Weslyan would come back with a strong offensive inning themselves to close out the win. Pitcher
