Midwest City, OK- Neosho Softball watched the game slip away early in game two and couldn't recover in an 18-5 loss to Rose State College Raiders on Tuesday. Rose State scored on a double by Raegan Roten, a single by Kaytlyn Marsh, and a single by Camenda Osborn in the first inning. Neosho struggled to put runs on the board and had a tough time defensively containing the Raiders, giving up 18 runs. After the Panthers scored three runs in the top of the third, Raiders answered with three of their own. Neosho scored when Madi Phillips doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs and an error scored one run for the Panthers. Rose State then answered when Kennedy Thomas doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring three runs. Rose State went on to score eight runs in the fourth inning. Freshman
Ryleigh Chaffin made her debut as she toed the rubber for the Panthers. She surrendered seven runs on seven hits over one and two-thirds innings. Kat Mcmanus and
Kaelee Escoe entered the game from the bullpen, throwing two innings and one-third of an inning respectively. Neosho racked up seven hits on the day. Phillips and
Kinsley Stewart each had multiple hits for the Panthers. Stewart and Phillips each had two hits to lead Neosho.
The Panthers look to recover on Thursday when they head to Independence for a double-header starting at 3:00 pm.
