The Panther wrestling team traveled to Pella, IA on January 5^th to compete in the Under Armour Invitational at Central College. The overall performance was not the best, although a few individuals had standout performances. D'Marcus Hooks (133lbs) placed 6^th, Jett Merlo (141lbs) placed 3^rd, Cesar Salgado (165lbs) placed 4^th and Aaron Pringle (285lbs) placed 4^th.
 
The Panthers competed again 6 days later at the NEO A&M Duals, where they wrestled 5 of the top 7 ranked teams in the nation. Neosho went winless in duals, but had great performances from D'Marcus Hooks, Jett Merlo, Garrett Nichols and Cesar Salgado during the day. Head Coach Nick Nothern said, "It's good to compete with such high level opponents. That's the only way to know where you're at from a competitive standpoint. I have more confidence than ever that our team is able to compete at the national level and I'm looking forward to the upcoming part of our season".
 
Neosho competes at home on Wednesday, Jan 16^th at 7 pm. They will be playing host to 12^th ranked Pratt Community College.
