The Panthers made the short trip up to Iola to face their rivals, the Allen County Red Devils. As it has been with most of the recent meetings between these teams, the game's intensity was as high as ever. After falling behind early in the game, Neosho County fought back to trail by only six at the half, 28-34.
Though adjustments were made at the break, the Panthers could not overcome the deficit, falling 82-62. Poor shooting did in Neosho County as they only connected on 4 of their 25 three point attempts and 22 for 76 overall.
The Panthers had many players contribute with
Beth Hawkins,
Don'tajah Jones, and Lexy Watts all finish with 8 points. Jones led the way in rebounds with 11, followed by
Alexis Casher with 9 and
DeQuandra Lyles with 8.
Neosho County Women's Basketball will pursue their next victory when they travel to Independence to take on the Pirates. Tip-off is scheduled for 6:00pm.
