Panther Softball got their first win of the season on Wednesday, with a 9-3 victory in game one of a double-header against Bacone.  The Panthers offense came alive in game one, which helped propel Neosho to victory. Bacone jumped ahead of Neosho earlyin the game scoring two runs in the first inning. But the Panthers answered back with three runs of their own in the bottom of the first inning which included a home run by Nia Maxwell.

Freshman Pitcher Allyson Coplin and the Neosho defense did a great job of shutting down The Braves after the first inning. Bacone would not score the rest of game one. Nia Maxwell led the panthers offensively during game one with 2 homeruns.

In game two of the double-header the Panthers rally in the 5th inning came up short. This game the Braves were the ones doing the scoring. Bacone took the lead in the third inning scoring 4 runs. They would later add 2 runs in the fifth inning. The Panthers started to rally in the fifth inning and pushed their run total to 4, but they still trailed the Braves 4-6 at the end of the fifth inning. The Braves would go on to score another run in sixth inning to put them up 7-4, which ended up being the final score.
