Box Score Panther Kascity Martin led all scorers with 19 points but, it just wasn't enough to put away the Independence Community College Pirates on Saturday. The Panthers managed to dig themselves out of their shooting slump from the past few games and shot 38 % for the first 2 quarters taking a 9 point lead into the half at 38-29. They Pirates came out of the half and put up 23 points in the 3^rd quarter to regain the lead from the Panthers. The 4^th quarter saw several ties and lead changes but the Pirates were able to hit a shot with under a minute to play to take the lead by 1. After a Panther turnover, they were forced to foul. The Pirates hit 1 of two free throws setting the Panthers up for one last shot. With 7 seconds left the Panthers drew up a play and just weren't able to convert as they fell to the Pirates 65-62. Panther Brook Neal added 15 points in the loss and Ki'Asha Harris added 9 points and 12 rebounds. The Panthers will host Wentworth Military College on Monday with the tip time being at 5:30pm.
