LIBERAL, Kan. – For the second season in a row the Neosho Panthers season came to an end with a loss to Seward County in the opening round of the Region VI Tournament. Seward exploded for 61 second half points en route to a convincing 108-49 win.
The Panthers were held scoreless for nearly 5 minutes before a three from
Autumn Lipscomb finally got them on the board. Despite the long scoring drought, the Lady Saints offense was not clicking early on and led just 19-9 at the first half under 10 minute timeout.
Seward County would put together an 18-6 run to begin to pull away and eventually led 47-26 at the half. The Panthers were held to just 9 for 40 from the field (22%) in the opening half.
The Lady Saints would slowly but surely pull away throughout the second half. Seward County connected on 9 of 19 3-point attempts in the second half as they cruised to the 108-49 win.
Madigan Gonzales grabbed a career high 18 rebounds in her final game as a Panther.

Autumn Lipscomb each finished with nine points and made three 3-pointers apiece to lead the Panthers in scoring.
Neosho ends the season at 11-20 overall for the second year in a row. It is the first time since Tonika Bruce recorded 11 wins in 2008-09 and 2009-10 that a Neosho head coach has reached double digits for wins. It is also the first time in more than 20 years that a Neosho head coach as won double digits in each of their first two seasons.
