CHANUTE, Kan. – Crowder College spoiled softball's home opener as they won a run-rule shortened game one 11-1 and came from behind to win game two 8-7.

The Crowder offense got on the board right away with a run in the first inning but Neosho answered back in the home half to tie the game. After the Roughriders tacked on a pair of runs in the second inning, an 8 run third blew the game open. The Neosho offense would threaten a couple times, but failed to push a run across as the game ended in the fifth by run rule.

The Neosho offense would find its stride early in game two. Crowder put up three runs in the first but the Panthers responded with a six run home half. The teams would trade runs in the second and Crowder would tack on two more in the third trimming the Neosho lead to 7-6. The score stayed that way until the sixth inning. With darkness approaching the teams agreed that the sixth would be the final inning of play. Crowder scored a pair of runs quickly in the top of the sixth and Neosho could not answer spoiling the Panthers chances at a split.

Tia Parker led the Panthers offense on the day. Parker was a perfect 3-3 with a run scored and an RBI in game two as she finished the day 3-4 at the plate. Freshman
Karolyna Gomez also recorded three hits on the day.

The Panthers next scheduled game against Connors State has been postponed with no makeup date yet announced. Neosho will now be back in action Thursday (Mar. 3) when they host Kansas City Kansas Community College to open Jayhawk Conference Play.
