IOLA, Kan. –
Denise Levine led three Panthers in double figures as Neosho snapped a 10 game losing streak with an 80-75 road win over rival Allen Community College Wednesday night.
Â
The Panthers (10-16, 1-9) have been mired in a team wide offensive slump, but broke out as a group against Allen (5-21, 1-8). They shot 48% from the floor, their second highest total this season. They also connected on 7-13 3-point attempts while also knocking down 19-20 attempts from the foul line.
Â
Neosho took control of the game midway through the first half and led the Red Devils by 10 at halftime.
Â
For most of the second half the Panthers remained in control before a run by Allen in the final 5 minutes saw the Panthers lead evaporate. After Allen tied the game at 70 the Panthers grabbed the lead back and put the game away by connecting on 10-10 free throws in the final minutes.
Â
Levine led the Panthers with 18 points.
Olivia Uhrich and
Autumn Lipscomb combined for 30 points off the bench including 4-7 from the 3-point line. Uhrich finished with 16 points while Lipscomb tallied 14.
Â
Freshman
Camri Burke scored a career high 8 points including 6-6 from the foul line with all of them coming down the stretch to secure the Panthers first conference win of the season.
Â
The Panthers will travel to Brokwn Arrow, Okla. Thursday night for a non-conference game with Rhema Bible College before returning home February 18 when they host Coffeyville Community College.
