The Neosho County Panthers wrestling team traveled to Colby, Kansas, on Saturday afternoon to take on the Colby Community College Trojans. Having two open weights at 184llbs, and 197llbs, the Panthers saw themselves in a hole automatically giving up 12 team points. Nonetheless, the Panthers still showed up to wrestle and were able to have several quality matches during the dual.
 
                After dropping the first match of the night at 125llbs, Panther sophomore Ryan Sherry sparked the momentum for the Panthers after a big throw led to him picking up a quick fall over Cody Simms only 28 seconds into the match. Following that match, freshman Mateo Soto picked up a forfeit at 141llbs which would then set up  a back and forth battle at 149llbs.
 
                Dallas Vesta found himself in a tight match which would ultimately end in a controversial defensive fall against himself while going for a fall of his own. Fast forwarding to the 165llb match, # 8 Colton Looper quickly disposed of Colby's Marquez Townsend with a fall only 1:15 seconds into the match.
 
                # 3 Darick Jones also picked up another win for the Panthers at the 174 llb bout in a contest that would go the distance. Leading 3-2 with a minute left in the match, Jones would fend off several attempts for a takedown from TJ Galey and would win the match 4-2 with the added riding time point to his account.
 
                Having to drop the 184, and 197llb matches due to opens in the Panther's lineup, the final match of the night pitted Neosho's Scott Kleinert against Colby's Zell Bieberle. Kleinert would drop the match by fall thus bringing the final score of the match 36-21 Colby.
