Box Score The Panthers went into Saturday afternoon's game in search of their first conference win of the season. Standing in their way were the Trojans from Colby Community College. In the previous two loses on the Panthers schedule, the team struggled to stop teams three point shooting with both Hutchinson and Dodge City shoot well over 50 percent from behind the arc. Saturday's game began with more of the same. Colby came out the first quarter and shoot 57 percent from the three point line and jumped out to an early lead in the first quarter. Early in the second quarter the Trojans pushed the lead to 18 points behind their hot shooting. The Panthers determined to fight back by attaching the rim and hitting a few threes of their own cut the halftime deficit to 10. The Panthers came out of halftime firing on all cylinders. Morgan Finley allowed the Panthers to fight all the way back and tie the game at the end of the third. The fourth quarter saw the Panthers take the lead and never look back. The Trojans did tie the game several times but just didn't have enough left in the tank to overcome the tough Panther squad. Panther won their first conference game of the season 74-71. Everyone on the Panther roster able to play saw some minutes and scored points in the Panther win. The women's team will now have a week to prepare for their final game of the first semester and 2015 when they travel to Cloud on December 13.
