The Neosho County Men's basketball team (2-1) hosted the Labette Community College Cardnals (1-4) on Veterans Day evening. The Panthers took an early lead, and never looked back in the game. Freddie Mcswain led the Panther offense in the first half with 12 points, and ignited the home crowd and momentum with a one handed jam just four minutes into the game. The Panthers would go into the locker room with a 40-34 lead after the half.
The panthers were able to once again utilize their entire team to score in the second half, making it the second straight home game where 13 out of 14 players recording points to the overall score. With
Marc Moon scoring 15 points, while also being the assist leader with 7, the Labette Cardinals were never able to catch up with Neosho. Also putting up double digits in scoring for the Panthers were
Nik Boone, and
Richard Granberry with 10 points apiece.
Daran Lee also had an exceptional game by adding 8 points himself to the Panther score. With the Panthers controlling the second half as well as they did in the first, this would lead to their second straight victory, and also keeping their home record at a 2-0 perfect mark this season. The final score ended with Neosho County topping Labette 92-76. The Panthers will hit the road to have a rematch with the Cardinals next Monday in Parsons, Kansas. Tip-off will begin at 8 p.m.Â
