CHANUTE, Kan. – The Butler Grizzly (6-3-3, 3-0-1) offense proved to be too much for Neosho (6-4-0, 3-3-0) as they outshot the Panthers 31-7 on their way to a comfortable 10-1 win Sunday afternoon.
Â
Butler controlled the ball for much of the match and got off 20 shots on goal. Freshman keeper
Raysha Claibourn stopped 10 shots in the match but the relentless attack would prove more than she could handle.
Â
The Grizzlies got on the board in the 7
th minute when returning All-American Madison Wedekind scored. She would follow it up with her second of the match just 10 minutes later and Butler led at the half 5-0.
Â
Breanna Williams scored the Panthers only goal off a great pass in the box from
Haylie Kinzey to spoil Butler keeper Paige Labadie's shutout hopes.
Â
The Panthers fall to 6-4-0 on the year and 3-3-0 in Jayhawk Conference action. They will travel to Bolivar, Missouri Wednesday (Oct. 1) for a non-conference match against Southwest Baptist University before returning home to host Coffeyville Sunday (Oct. 5) at 5pm.
