El Dorado, KS, November 11, 2014: Playing their fourth game in five days the Neosho Panthers dropped their first game of the season 97-45 to Butler Community College at the Power Plant in El Dorado.
The Grizzlies (4-2, 0-0 KJCCC) controlled the game from the opening tip as they started the game with a 16-0 run and led 24-2 before the Panthers (4-1, 0-0 KJCCC) were able to find any consistent offense.
Neosho shot just 21% (6-28) from the floor in the first half and committed 13 turnovers. The Panthers would shoot the ball better in the second half, connecting on 10-24 of their attempts. The Grizzlies capitalized on 12 more Neosho turnovers and converted the 25 Panther turnovers into 33 points. Butler was also deadly from the free throw line as they were 24-27 at the line.
The Panthers entered the game with a +22 rebound margin but the Grizzlies were the ones with the advantage on the glass. Butler outrebounded the Panthers 39-18 included 18 offensive rebounds.
Olivia Uhrich led the Panthers with 12 points on 5-13 shooting.
Autumn Lipscomb added 11 points on 3-5 shooting from behind the 3-point line.
The Panthers will travel to Southeast Community College for the RKP Memorial Classic this weekend before they return home November 17 to host the University of Saint Mary at 5:30 p.m.
