Box Score The Neosho County Panthers season came to an end Saturday (Mar. 2) as they fell to the Cloud County Thunderbirds 67-52 in the first round of the Region VI tournament. The Panthers finished the season 10-21 which is one more win than they had in the previous two seasons combined.
 
For the first 10 minutes, the Panther and Thunderbirds went back and forth as neither team could pull away. As they headed to the first half media timeout, the Panthers trailed Cloud County by two at 15-13. Cloud would go on an 18-3 run over the next 10 minutes to take a 33-16 lead at the half.
 
After being held to only 22% shooting from the field in the first half, the Panthers would shoot the ball much better in the second half. Neosho County would shoot a blistering 56% in the second half including 5-9 from behind the three point line, but it would not be enough to overcome the large first half deficit.
 
Cerissa McMillan scored a career high 15 points to lead the Panthers as she connected on 5 of 9 three point attempts. Brandae Carroll was the only other Panther to score in double figures as she finished with 13 points along with 8 rebounds. Leading scorer Alexis Hafenstein was held to only 2 points, but dished out a team high 4 assists.
