Box Score The Neosho County Panthers scored 118 points in their season opener against Ottawa JV. Monday night hosting Southwestern College they looked to improve on that mark.

The Panthers started slowly after shooting over 60% in the season opener, but once they got going they were hard to stop. They led 60-37 at the half and three Panthers scored in double figures.
Jelani Pruit and
Tyson Downing each finished with 13 first half points. Downing added 7 assists in the half as well.

In the second half the Panthers would continue to pull away as they turned up the pressure on their full court defense. It was Pruit that would bring the crowd to its feet with numerous second half dunks as the lead built to as many as 44 in the half.

Jelanie Pruit scored a career high 23 points to go with 8 rebounds to lead the panthers in both categories.
Tyson Downing finished with 20 points on 5-7 shooting from behind the arc and added 7 assists.
Charles Cooper and
BJ Jenkins each reached double figures as well with 18 and 12 respectively.

The Panthers improve to 2-0 on the season with the win. Their next action will be this weekend when they travel to Salina, Kansas for the Brown Mackie College Classic.
