Box Score Ashley Grant's 34 points were not enough as Dodge City came back from a 13 point first half deficit to knock off Neosho County 105-96.

Grant scored a career high 34 points but spent much of the first half on the bench in foul trouble. When she was on the floor the Conquistadors couldn't seem to find an answer for her as she was 7 of 11 from the floor while grabbing 8 first half rebounds to go with her 15 points.

The Panthers led by as many as 13 points in the half, but a 15-5 run by Dodge to close out the half tied the ball game at 43.

Dodge City came out on fire to start the second half and led by as many as 14 points with 15 minute to go in the ball game. Danel Stithem then scored 11 straight points to pull the Panthers back within six at 66-62.

The Panthers cut the Dodge lead to four on multiple occasions but Dodge kept holding off the Panther charge. Neosho trailed by 5 at 96-101 but Dodge put the game away at the free throw line.

It was at the line that Dodge was able to put the game away. The Conquistadors were 34-44 from the line while Neosho only attempted 11 free throws.

Ashley Grant recorded her third straight game with a career high in points as she finished with 34 points and 13 rebounds in the loss. Danel Stithem finished with 21 including a career high 5 three point makes while also dishing out 4 assists. Marilon Goss scored 14 and Danielle Randle had 11 to round out the double digit scorers.

The Panthers fall to 5-5 on the season with the loss while Dodge improves to 8-1. Neosho will be back in action this weekend when they travel to Barton Community College for the Best Western/Cougar Booster Classic. They will take on host Barton on Friday at 5:30 and close out the weekend against Brown Mackie Saturday at 1:00.
