Panthers fall in OT to #6 Butler

For the first half the Neosho County Panthers held the #2 ranked Butler Community College Grizzlies scoreless. The problem was the Panthers couldn't get on the board either.

Butler would finally get on the board early in the second half with a goal to take a 1-0 lead. It would be the first goal allowed by NJCAA Goalie of the Week Haylee Merrill since the season opener against Hutchinson, a span of 9 halves.

The score would remain the same until the Panthers tied it up on Enyi Rosa's goal with only three minutes remaining in regulation.

The Panthers would head to overtime for the second time this season while it would mark the fourth time in only 8 games the Grizzlies would need overtime.

Butler would score seven minutes into overtime to end the Panthers upset bid.

Neosho falls to 2-2 in Jayhawk Conference play and 3-2 overall. They will be back in action Sunday when they head to Iola to take on Allen County
