The Lady Panthers Season comes to an end
The Neosho County women's basketball team's season came to an end Wednesday night. The Lady Panthers fell to Cloud County 71 – 44 in the first round of the Region VI Tournament.
After playing one of the best games of the season Saturday against Independence, the Lady Panther (5-25, 4-14 Conference) shot 13-of-52 from the floor. Sophomore and Honorable Mention guard
Autumn Zenon lead the way with 14pts in her last game as a Lady Panther. Freshmen
Shanice Palmer added 9pts & 5rebs. and
Katie Gorman adds 12rebs.
Cloud County (21-9, 11-9 Conference) took a 13pt lead into half time with Tera Ingalsbe leading the way with 10pt & 8rebs. The second half was all Cloud Tera Ingalsbe finish with 22pts & 10reb, Ashley Evans finish 17pts to help Cloud to victory. Coach Newton said “Cloud was hitting everything they shot; they knew all the spots to hit. Cloud will be very tough to beat.” Cloud will face Cowley Community College in the second round.
As the season has ended, the Lady Panthers looks forward to returning most of the team with a lot of experience. “Going into the off season at this time is disappointing, but we are looking forward to getting better and making great strides in our program during the off season” said Coach Newton.
The future looks bright in Panther Country.
