Box Score The Butler Grizzlies jumped out to an early lead and never looked back as they cruised to the 64-44 win Monday (Dec. 3) evening. The Panthers fall to 3-7 on the year while Butler improves to 9-2.
The Grizzlies scored the first 8 points of the game but the Panthers righted the ship and kept the lead around six points for the first 12 minutes of the game. Butler would go on a 15-2 run over the final eight minutes of the half to take a commanding 35-16 halftime lead.
The Panthers would score the first six points of the second half to cut the Grizzlies lead to 13. Butler would turn up the pressure defensively at that point and push the lead out to as many as 29 points in the second half.
Alexis Hafenstein led the Panthers with 13 points in the losing effort. The Panthers were held to just 26% shooting for the night while the Grizzlies shot a season high 46%. Jamillah Bonner led Butler with 18 points to go with 7 rebounds and 6 steals.
