Box Score The Neosho County women's basketball team fell in the opening game of the Best Western Angus Inn - Cougar Booster Club Thanksgiving Classic Friday (Nov. 23) afternoon.
Brandae Carroll led the Panthers with 18 points and 12 rebounds but the Panthers couldn't overcome the big first half lead Brown Mackie built.
The Panthers led six points with 11:00 minutes to go in the first half before Brown Mackie slowly began to pull away. The Lions would head to the locker room with their biggest lead of the game at 49-34.
In the second half Brown Mackie would push the lead out to 19 early before the Panthers began to slowly chip away. Barton County transfer
Cerissa McMillan twice knocked down three pointers to cut the lead to 7, but that is as close as the Panthers could get.
Carroll's 18 points and 12 rebounds was her third double-double of the season. Daniel Randle scored 14 and
Cerissa McMillan finished with 13 to join Carroll in double figures.
The Panthers fall to 3-4 on the year with the loss. They will be back in action Saturday (Nov. 24) when they take on the Barton Community College at 5:00 pm.
