Panthers use balanced attack to down Tabor College

Box Score The Neosho County Panthers are off to their best start since 2004 after a 63-44 win over visiting Tabor College Wednesday (Nov. 14) night. The Panthers took 27 more shots than the Bluejays in the game thanks to a season high 29 offensive rebounds.
 
The Panthers never trailed in the game as they were in control from the opening tip. They would score 13 points of 11 Tabor turnovers in the first half. The Panthers would also pull in an impressive 67% of their missed shots in the first half converting them in to 15 second chance points. Brandae Carroll led the Panthers with 9 first half points on 4 of 5 shooting as the Panthers led 37-16 at the half.
 
The second half would be more of the same as the Panthers continued to use tough defense and offensive rebounding to push the lead out to as many as 25. Ashley Grant led a balanced scoring attack for the Panthers, finishing with 12 points. For the game 10 different Panthers would score with seven of them totaling at least 6 points.
 
The win improves the Panthers to 2-3 on the season which is their best start since the 2004 season when they began the year 4-1. They will be back in action Saturday (Nov. 17) when the host MCC-Penn Valley at 2:00 pm.
