The Neosho County Panthers traveled to Great Bend, Kansas for their first round Region VI matchup with the three seed Barton Cougars. The Cougars came into the match receiving votes in the latest NJCAA poll. A month to the day after falling to the Cougars 2-0 at home, the Panthers would once again find themselves on the short end of a 2-0 score.
After controlling the ball for much of the first half, the Panthers would give up their first goal of the day in the 24th minute when Bianca Barron scored her 30th goal of the season.
The score would remain 1-0 for the rest of the half and much of the second. Barton would put the game out of the Panthers reach with a goal with only 3:31 left on the clock.
The Panthers finish the season 10-7-1. It marks the fourth consecutive season that the Panthers have reached double digit wins.
Barton improves to 15-3-1 on the year and advances to the Region VI semifinals at Hummer Park in Topeka, KS. They will face off with No. 7 ranked Hutchinson Community College
