TISHOMINGO, Okla. — The NCCC Panthers women's basketball team lost a road matchup with Murray State 84-50 on Saturday. Neosho County Coach Kelley Newton said the bright spot was how his team responded in the second half. The halftime score was 45-18 and the Panthers scored 32 points in the second.
According to Newton, the play of Ashley King has been a bright spot the last two games.
“As a team we still struggle with scoring the ball and we are digging a hole for ourselves early in the game and we have to keep working and focusing on getting better every day,” Newton said.
The loss brings the Panthers' record to 1-6. Their next set of games are Dec. 2 against Butler County and Dec. 3 against Iowa Western in Council Bluff, Iowa, as part of the Iowa Western Classic. Then NCCC returns home on Tuesday, Dec. 6, to host the JV team from Friends University.
